Chalise is originally from Gauteng but moved to a farm near the small town of Bultfontein in the Free state, where she matriculated.
Food has always been her passion. Even as a young girl, one could always find her in the kitchen. As she got older, the role of nutrition in health became more of an interest and she knew that she was destined to become a dietitian.
SheI went on to study BSc Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of the Free State and completed her community service year at Nic Bodenstein Hospital in Wolmaranstad.

She joined Ilsabe Spoelstra Dietitans shortly after, where she now devotes most of her time to critical care nutrition, diabetes management and lifestyle changes. In 2019 she completed the CDE advanced course in diabetes care, and this is now her main area of expertise.
As a part of Ilsabe Spoelstra Dietitians she hopes to change the view of nutrition by exploring new, innovative and scientific strategies to improve the health of everybody. She strongly believes that prevention is better than cure and aims to coach people to reach their goals.
